The College of Science participates in an Arab conference on atomic energy research
Participation in the conference, in which the College of Science, University of Baghdad, was represented by the Head of the Physics Department, Prof. Ali Abdul Latif, included a paper titled “Removal of the 137Cs isotope from a polluted liquid using natural zeolite”, within the axis of nuclear safety and security and safeguards in radioactive waste management, as the research worked on The use of natural zeolite of the type clinoptilolite in the process of treating contaminated liquid containing the isotope cesium 137Cs. The results showed that this type of zeolite is highly effective in removing cesium after using different weights of zeolite, while the conference included sessions, presentation of original and refereed papers, lectures and discussion panels that dealt with a number of scientific topics related to the topics of the conference.
