A scientific symposium on the dangers of climate change and its effects on the dust storms sweeping Iraq
In cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, the department of geology held a scientific symposium entitled “Climate Changes and Dust Storms and Their Impact on Iraq’s Climate” in the presence of many students, researchers, and those concerned with geographical, agricultural, environmental, and water resources.
The symposium aims to identify climatic changes and their impact due to the lack of rainfall and the dryness of rivers. Furthermore, other factors negatively affect the atmosphere and raise sand and dust storms that are formed due to strong winds that carry large amounts of sand and dust from dry soil to the atmosphere. The effects are on climate, human health, and the environment.
