The College of Science discuss the water crisis in Iraq and proposes solutions to it
The Remote Sensing Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, organized a lecture entitled “The Water Crisis in Iraq: Challenges and Solutions” in the presence of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Qazzaz, his scientific assistant, and a number of students, teachers, and those concerned with water and water resources.
The lecture aimed to shed light on the water crisis in Iraq due to drought resulting from low rainfall and extreme heat caused by global warming, and the decline in Iraq’s water resources by more than 50% since the past three years.
