A training course at the College of Science to raise awareness of biological hazards in laboratories
The department of biology, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Science, University of Baghdad, organized a training course titled “Biological Hazard Management for Postgraduate Students” in the presence of several students, instructors and those concerned with laboratories.
The course aims to familiarize the postgraduate students with the concept of biosafety and biosecurity, which are the most important correct procedures for working in laboratories, how to deal with and transport biological samples, how to safely and properly dispose of biological waste, as well as how to deal with laboratory animals, in order to maintain a safe and sound environment for work inside laboratories. The course also aims to reduce or prevent injuries or accidents in laboratories due to not following safety and security conditions.
