Astronomical virtual lecture in the College of Science, Baghdad University, in both Gregorian and Islamic calendars
The Dept. of Astronomy and Space with Avi Cenna unit for e-learning and Continuing Education Unit, the college of the science of Baghdad University, organized a virtual lecture entitled “The Calendaring and Timing in Astronomy- the starts, types and differences”, which involves researchers and academics from inside and outside the college. This virtual lecture was introduced by Dr. F. M. Abdulla, was aimed to determine the calendars by having a look on them (Gregorian and Islamic calendars), these calendars are considered products of years of researching and studying, that started since the cooling/creating of the earth when ancient man began to keep watching the planets as a method to measure the time, and the path of the sun and the moon.
